The Resolution “On Measures to Improve the System of Government in the Field of Agriculture”

The Resolution of the President “On Measures to Improve the System of Government in the Field of Agriculture” was adopted. The Resolution approved the main tasks and activities of the Ministry of Agriculture. In accordance with this, the Unified State Policy in the Field of Agriculture and Food Security will be implemented.

The following were transferred to the Ministry:

• Research and Production Center of Agriculture and Food Supply (from the Academy of Sciences);

• Center for certification and testing of agricultural equipment and technology (from the Government);

• Center for Seed Development (From the Ministry of Innovation Development).

Tashkent State Agrarian University and its branches are also transferred to the Ministry. According to the resolution, measures to improve the agrochemical services for agriculture and plant protection will be taken and a specialized service under the Ministry will be created. In addition, a concept for the development of unused land for cultivating agricultural products will be developed in 2019-2021.
