Decree of the Government on additional measures to ensure the safety of passenger bus transportation

Decree of the Government on additional measures to ensure the safety of passenger bus transportation was adopted. According to the resolution, starting from September 1, 2019:

• passenger transportation by inter-regional, inter-city, international routes and tourist destinations at night will be carried out exclusively accompanied by the internal affairs bodies using specially equipped service vehicles;
• the escorts of the internal affairs bodies of the buses will be carried out on a fee basis in order to provide public services or enter into contracts;
• buses, accompanied by the bodies of internal affairs, will undergo an obligatory check of the technical condition immediately before leaving the route;
• drivers of buses whose rest between shifts is less than 12 hours are not allowed to travel;
• it is not allowed to issue license cards for the carriage of passengers by buses that have a lifespan of more than 15 years. And from January 1, 2021, the carriage of passengers on such buses will be prohibited.

Accompanying buses that carry out transportation excursions, tourist and other groups from among the representatives of socially vulnerable categories of the population, organized for charitable purposes, is free of charge.
