"Week of the Elderly" was established

The Government adopted a Resolution “On measures for further enhance the role of the older generation in society and the social activity”. According to the Resolution, every year starting in 2019, the first week of October is set to the "Week of the Elderly."

Also, according to the Resolution:

• in the ministries, departments and economic associations, one of the deputy heads on a voluntary basis is appointed responsible for the issues of the elderly and coordinates the activities of the "Council of Veterans";
• in the practice of rewarding labor veterans on the eve of retirement and holding retirement events is being introduced in labor collectives.

Within the framework of the program “Travel to Uzbekistan!” A trip of representatives of the older generation in the republic to historical cities and places of pilgrimage will be organized.  The resolution also approved the model charter of the “Consultations of the elderly” groups. The main goal of these groups is targeted study and elimination of the problems of the elderly.
